What does RPO offer?
Do you know all about the features that Roleplay Oasis offers to our roleplayers, members and room owners?
We strive to offer as much as we can to meet the needs of our community. If you’d like to learn more about any of the following features available on RPO, contact an admin or section leader and we’ll help you maximize your RPO experience!
Features available to anyone
Rooms – RPO has over 50 different rooms reflecting roleplay experiences in a wide variety of genres… something for everyone!
Whochat Looks- You get to choose the look of your RPO whochat! There are currently over twenty different colors and themes so that you can choose your favorite or make your whochat look different from day to day… with just one click.
Message Board/Forum Looks – The RPO message board theme can now be changed as well… to match your whochat in many cases or with a completely different look. It’s up to you.
Tag Generator – The RPO tag generator helps you to compose and customize your tags for use in rooms.
Features available to all members
Membership Levels – RPO offers multiple levels of membership so that you can purchase a membership that custom fits you and your needs.
Registered Name – Each RPO member is allowed to choose a registered name that nobody else is able to use when entering a room.
File Store – Each RPO member is offered a large file store of 50megs. This is plenty of space for uploading and storing avatars, files or whatever you need.
R-POP – R-POP is a unique networking feature offered to our members. Members can send each other messages, browse each others’ profiles, write on each others’ walls, send virtual presents and stickies, and more… or those who wish to may remain private with a simple change of setting.
Cached Tags – RPO members have a cache available to them so that character tags can be changed with a few simple clicks through the configuration panel without ever opening another window or document.
Referral Program – For every friend that says a member referred them to purchase a year membership package on RPO at the regular price, the member can get $10 off on renewal if it is a year package. With enough referrals, the members renewal may even be free!
Features available to members based on purchased package
Message Board/Forum – One of the perks available with a membership package is your very own smf forum. You can use this as the forum of your room, as a place to store or display artwork, writing, keep scripts of roleplays… the possibilities are endless.
Private Room – You can have your very own passworded room. If you choose this option, the link is made available in your membership area so that it is only available to the people you choose to give it to and give the password to. The room doesn’t appear on the whochat, nor does the list of who is in it. Private rooms can be used for roleplay, meetings… anything that you might prefer to keep private.
Coppermine Gallery – Members of RPO can choose to have a gallery for the storage and display of avatars and other images. Blog – RPO members can choose the blog feature. The blog offers a place for sharing ideas, journaling… endless possibilities.
Features available to room owners
Pull Down Editing – Room Owners on RPO have the capability to edit room pull downs anytime and as often as they like without having to wait for staff response.
Customizable Room Entries – On RPO, Room Owners can change the entry page for their room whenever they like and as often as they like. Editing of room entries is completely under their control.
Whochat Mousover – RPO Room Owners can customize the information given in the room mouseover (tool tip) at will so that people on the whochat can find out about the room at a mere glance.
Pull Down Generator – Since Room Owners are given the flexibility to change pull downs as they wish, RPO has provided a tag generator to help make the coding a snap.
Optional Forced Entries – If an RPO Room Owner doesn’t want people to be able to enter their room “silently”, with a few clicks they can set a customized forced entry so that every person that enters the room registers a message upon entering.
Random In-Room Banners – Each room on RPO is set up with the capability for the Room Owner to customize banners that will appear randomly amongst the posts. These banners can be used for guiding roleplay environment, advertising of events or for pure entertainment purposes. It’s all up to you!
Room Info Link – Each room on RPO has in its upper frame a “Room Info” link. Clicking on this link opens a new browser window with a page that can be customized in any way the Room Owner sees fit. It can contain information on current room roleplay, links to the message board or other resources, maps or diagrams, room announcements… and all readily edited by the owner at any time.
Custom In-Room Weather – RPO offers its room owners a weather engine that can be set up to provide hourly posts that update the room on the current weather. The weather is generated based on parameters completely controlled by the Room Owner. Is your room set in a desert? Or the arctic? This feature can provide your room with realistic weather conditions either way or anywhere in the middle. And if your room is set in another type of world altogether, the weather feature can be left turned off as well.
Travel Links – Room Owners on RPO have the ability to make travel links with other rooms at will. One room sends the travel link invitation… the other rooms accepts it… and voila! That’s all it takes. The travel links are that easy. And no waiting for staff to have time to set it up.
