Of course, the movies and books are the best places to find information. They are amazingly well written, and the characters are the type that you just fall in love with. Those characters are the sole property of their creator, and we here in this room get no profit from the RP based on that universe with loosely based rules from the Star Wars RPG. It is not actually required for you to have watched the movie or read the books to enjoy this theme in all its glory. It is a unique theme, and a unique universe which might be intimidating to those new to it. Please, don't let that keep you back.

Setting:

The events depicted in Star Wars media take place in a fictional galaxy. Many species of alien creatures (often humanoid) are depicted. Robotic droids are also commonplace and are generally built to serve their owners. Space travel is common, and many planets in the galaxy are members of a Galactic Republic.*

Genere:

When people think of the sci-fi genre, Star Wars is one of the first things they think of. Star Wars encompasses its own universe with its own planets, cultures, and beliefs. This is a land where the mystic Force meets the power of technology, and often they conflict.

The Resistance Following the defeat of Emperor Palpatine and the second Death Star, the Resistance struck a powerful blow to the Empire but the war was not over. Speaking to the future of the Rebel Alliance in The Force Awakens prequel novel, Aftermath, Admiral Akbar states: "The Empire's weapon may be destroyed, but the Empire itself lives on. Its oppressive hand closes around the throats of good, free-thinking people across the galaxy, from the Coruscant Core to the farthest systems in the Outer Rim. We must remember that our fight continues. Our rebellion is over. But the war the war is just beginning."

As a result, the Rebel Alliance evolved into the Resistance and, thirty years later, the Resistance has inspired a new generation of heroes, developed modernized vehicles, and forged powerful alliances..

The First Order Just as the Akbar recognized that the death of Emperor Palpatine did not mean the end of galactic war, many Imperial fighters also braced for a lengthy war, regrouping under a new banner: The First Order. Borrowing (and repurposing) assets and tenants of their former Empire, Imperial sympathizers spent the next thirty years rebuilding their fighting force and developing new weapons to intimidate and oppress the galaxy.

PIRATES, GANGS, & MISCELLANEOUS ALIENS There are smaller factions. Crime syndicates, Pirates, Mining Operations, ranching and farming groups, and others

"...Every generation has its challenges to face, its own battles to win. Why should yours be any different?
Running away from your responsibilities won't solve anything..."
